Adelaide's Shane Mitchell made his professional MMA debut in 2013 on the now defunct Australia Regional Promotion coming away with the win.
In his second professional fight he stepped in as a late notice replacement against local legend and World Muaythai champion Charles August. Although he suffered a TKO loss he displayed the toughness and determination and gained the confidence to strike with anyone in MMA.
Going on to climb the Middleweight division he went 7-2 over his next nine fights, with one of those two losses to former Hex Champion and fellow top ranked contender Kit Campbell. In 2017 his head coach and Diamondback FC promoter Craig Icke lined up the toughest fight of his career against then top ranked Brandon Ropati. As a 10 to 1 underdog Shane shocked many when he won a unanimous decision after a 3 round war. After beating former Bellator fighter Jason Radcliffe by 2nd round TKO, Shane climbed to the become the number 1 ranked Middleweight in Australia/NZ (Tapology). On the cusp of UFC singing with the UFC his impressive 4 fight win streak was snapped when he lost his next fight and Diamondback FC Championship to the underrated BJJ Black Belt Rick Alchin.
Back to the drawing board Shane decided to move down a weight class and made his successful Welterweight debut against the tough and unpredictable Paul Franchi at Diamondback FC 8.
